Bring. It. On.

Courtesy of Gentilly Girl: the Massachusetts Attorney General is treating the failure of a tunnel in the Big Dig highway project as a homicide investigation. This AP story is from from Yahoo news:
BOSTON - Massachusetts Attorney General Tom Reilly said Tuesday he is treating the concrete collapse in a Big Dig tunnel that killed a motorist as a crime scene that could lead to charges of negligent homicide. ...

"What we are looking at is anyone who had anything to do with what happened last night," Reilly said. "No one is going to be spared." ...

If Louisiana AG Charles C. Foti, Jr. can second guess the decisions of medical personal in an unimaginable crisis during the Deluge, then he damned well better get busy working the cases of more than 1,500 who died when the Federal levees failed, or be charged himself as an accomplice to murder.

Interesting. My husband and I have talked about this from Day 1. Okay, Day 10 actually, by the time we got our breath. Then we found that the Corps of Engrs is immune from lawsuits, BUT the Corps sub-contracts, so we averred, wouldn't it, couldn't it, be possible to sue the sub-contractors in civil court, for yes, negligent homicide?

Do we have a lawyer among us who'd know the answer to this question? We've been pondering it at my house since the end of September.

Makes sense to me. Not to change the subject, but, while we're at it, can we get Cardinal Bernard Law back from his suite in the Vatican and put him on trial for conspiracy to commit child sexual abuse?

I wish I could envision any of that actually happening. *sigh*
